At The Soul Compass, we believe that healing should be exciting and engaging! We recognize that each person has a unique story and a unique healing journey to embark upon. This is why we have worked diligently to put together cool and creative evidence-based counselling packages that focus on a holistic approach to wellness.

During our initial meeting, we’ll work together to create the preliminary work for an individualized treatment plan based on your personal needs and goals. This plan would include your major concerns. For instance, you might address the need to get unstuck or feel less anxious, or you might need help getting through a recent loss. It can be one of these examples or multiple issues - simple or complex. Together, we’ll discuss the different therapeutic approaches available and select the best type of therapy.

With a variety of offerings at The Soul Compass, we can put together a plan that works to heal the mind, body, and soul. It might include standard therapy like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or a combination of evidence-based psychotherapy along with yoga, exercise, meditation, mindfulness, and nutritional wellness. And,  let's not forget about nourishing our creative side. The Soul Compass also specializes in Individual Art Therapy sessions. Finally, we’ll discuss the expected time frame and number of sessions. I’ll work with you to ensure your needs are met and our time together is maximized for your benefit.

New clients can access a free intake telephone call (10-30 minutes) prior to booking a first session in person. This is done to discuss offerings and answer questions.

Do you take credit card payments?

You can pay in different ways. E-transfer is highly recommended and easy. We also accept cash. We are not accepting credit cards at this time, but we are working on it and hope to provide this service soon.

Will there be homework?

The motto at The Soul Compass is practice, practice, practice! We typically provide simple and thought-provoking home “practice” designed to help you put the theoretical stuff into practice; however, we'll work with your learning style and accommodate you so therapy is comforting and not a chore or stressful. Again, we will work

together to meet your needs.

Will my insurance plan cover my psychotherapy or other sessions with you?

Maybe. You will have to check. Each plan and insurance company is different. The most common ways our services are covered are as follows: (Be sure to ask your benefits provider if any of the following apply.)

  • Registered Psychotherapist (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario – applies to Tiffany Caicco)

  • Masters-level therapist (applies to all of our practitioners)

  • Nurse Practitioner (Sara Bullock)

  • Health spending account (applies to all our practitioners)

Prior to booking, please confirm with your insurance provider the coverage you have available, how much per calendar year, whether you need a referral from a medical doctor, etc. Typically, clients pay therapists for their services and submit receipts for reimbursement. Note that we offer a variety of counselling packages that might be eligible for insurance.

Can we talk about confidentiality?

Yes. The Soul Compass takes confidentiality seriously. Your privacy is a top priority. During our initial session we can discuss this further.
